The demand for trustworthy organic vegetables and potatoes is rapidly rising but cannot be met by current agronomic methods. Improved soil quality is critical for intensive, cost-effective organic high-value crop production but organic animal manure is a limited resource that can only fulfil a small fraction of the total fertilizer need.
